Avery's 1st Birthday

Avery's 1st Birthday wasn't quite what we planned. At least it she was so little she didn't realize. We got back from Fresno and Avery ended up with the croup cough. I spent her birthday and the next at home nursing her through her 102 fever and cough. We were hoping to get her in shape to celebrate her birthday that Saturday. Even Grandma and Grandpa Ahlstrom got to come for the visit. Unfortunately Avery shared her cold with her Mom so we had to cancel the party. Instead we enjoyed a quite day home as a family with Grandma and Grandpa.

Mom attempted using fondant for the first time on Avery's birthday cake. I think it looked cuter then it tasted.

I love this little picture. I took it on Avery's birthday on my cell phone. You can see how her little cheeks and nose were red due to being sick. We love this sweet little baby girl.
