Floors...a month and a half project

Conststruction Zone

All Done!!!!

Seth and I spent the 4th of July in Idaho Falls and came home to a flood under our kitchen sink. Seth discovered that the vinyl flooring was bubbling up which lead to the discovery of a broken pipe. It had soaked through the cabinet base and got down to our wood sub floor. Thank goodness for insurance. There was water absorbed into small section of the dry wall and the sub floor. They thought they would have to tear out our cabinets but lucky they did not have to. They were able to dry everything out but we did have to got for over a week with no kitchen sink and over a month with no dish washer. It's amazing how much you realize you are blessed when you go without.
Since we have never been fond of the carpet under our dinning room table we took the opportunity to get new floors installed. After two weekends and every lunch break for over a week going to every place in Boise that sells wood and laminate flooring, we decided to go with laminate flooring. We couldn't figure out a good spot to cut it off and leave carpet in the family room. So we decided that would go too.....we now have 500 square feet of new flooring in our front room and love it.

I feel your pain. We're going through the same thing right now because of a leak in our ice maker hose. Still no floor for us though. We're laying down tile and it's been a long process. I'm hoping only another week of this though. Your floors look great! Gives me hope.
